I made my step, signed up and pledged to raise £4500 until the end of the year towards the £3 million that GWAAC needs to operate.
Yes, but you get to go to Africa, who pays for that, you might ask.
This is a valid question, indeed. GWAAC told me:
“We ask each Kilimanjaro participant to raise £4,500. Around half of this total covers the costs of the trip itself, the remainder comes directly to GWAAC as a donation to fund our life saving work.”
I believe in transparency and I want to support them not just by raising funds, but contributing to these funds, too. I may not be able to make up for the costs of the whole trip, but I can confidently cover at least £1500 of it, hopefully more.
So it seems the pieces are falling into places regarding my savings for this trip and I am going to be able to cover the whole of the trip costs.
This means, that all of the money raised will go to GWAAC. Ty fundraising target will change on the website too, to represent this.
I need YOU to help me out with the rest.
